Chess Academy

During the presidency of Leonardo Campillay and thanks to the selfless contributions of Professor Ricardo Musumessi and member Jorge Carrizo, one of the most significant achievements was the opening of a chess school, an initiative aimed at fostering intellectual and social development among youth.

This project not only promoted chess as a sporting discipline, but also as an educational tool that enhances various cognitive skills in children and teenagers within our community.

Benefits of Chess for Children

Chess offers a wide variety of benefits for children, both academically and personally. Key highlights include:

  • Development of critical thinking: Chess teaches children to analyze situations, think strategically, and make logic-based decisions.
  • Improved concentration: Playing chess requires high attention to detail and focus, helping children improve their attention span in other areas.
  • Fostering patience and perseverance: It teaches children to wait for the right moment to act, a key element in developing self-control.
  • Enhancing memory: Through constant practice, children exercise memory by recalling piece positions and previous moves.
  • Stimulating creativity: It allows for creative thinking, as every move opens a range of possibilities and solutions.
  • Encouraging decision-making: Every movement involves evaluating action consequences prior to execution.
